Healthy You Tip!

Let Your Teen Talk Privately With Doc

It’s time to leave the doctor’s exam room, Mom and Dad. Your teen may not want you there when the doctor starts talking about risky behavior. If your teen is still comfortable with your pediatrician, it may be time to let them talk privately. If your teen doesn’t want to keep seeing a pediatrician, let your teen choose a new doctor -- an adolescent medicine specialist, family medicine doctor, internist or nurse practitioner who cares for teens. Just remember, it’s your teen’s health, so it should be your teen’s choice.
